Waldorf resident Samuel Hinton was tragically killed after being involved in a crash with a sedan while crossing through a Forestville intersection over the weekend.
The crash was reported at around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Donnell Drive, where there was a reported crash involving Hinton.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following his death, Hinton - also known as "Spanegro," according to loved ones - was remembered as a "vibrant soul whose laughter and kindness touched the lives of so many."
Now, the community is rallying to "come together to honor his memory (and) provide support to his family during this difficult time."
Services for Hinton have been scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30.
"As we come together to honor his memory, we want to provide support to his family during this difficult time," organizers of a fundraiser for the family said. Your contributions will help cover funeral expenses and support to his children's as they navigate this unimaginable loss
